The Public Ministry reported that two members of the Lev Tahor sect were captured in zone 1 of the capital.

The Public Ministry (MP) reported that within the framework of the investigation of the Case of the Lev Tahor sectcoordinated the apprehension of two leaders of that group.
The MP added that through the Prosecutor’s Office against Trafficking in Persons, the apprehension of Yoel “N” and Nissen “N” was made.
Both are syndicated of abuse against minors, the investigating entity said.
He affirmed that the apprehensions were executed on Tuesday night February 25 on the 6th Avenue “A” and 20 Calle, Zone 1 of Guatemala City.
The MP explained that Prosecutor’s Office, together with the Crime Scene team, appeared at the scene, where, in collaboration with agents of the Special Investigation Unit of the National Civil Police, he requested the identification of the detainees.
He affirmed the report that both were inside a vehicle and refused to descend.
The arrest orders were issued by the Court Specialized in Crimes of Trafficking in the Department of Guatemala.
Other leaders of the Lev Tahor sect have been captured in recent months, and authorities point them out of human trafficking and make forced marriages among minors.
In December 2024, authorities made a search at the headquarters of the group in Oratory, Santa Rosa, where they rescued several minor victims of alleged abuse.
