The National Civil Police (PNC) reported on Thursday, February 27 that the Salvadoran Jonathan “N”, 35, was captured during an operation.
The arrest was recorded in the customs enclosure of the Valle Nuevo border, Jalpatagua, Jutiapa.
The Salvadoran was surprised with US $ 23 thousand (Q177 thousand) hidden in a pillow that he had in the vehicle in which he was traveling.
“He could not demonstrate the origin – from the money – and did not declare them,” said the PNC.
According to the police, this person was traveling from Guatemala to El Salvador and intended to pass the hidden money and without declaring.
In addition, authorities established that he had no migratory record of admission to Guatemala.
