This March 4 the Third Chamber of the Court of Appeals decided Cancel everything acted by Judge Erick García Since October 2024, a judge that benefited José Rubén Zamora with house arrest in the second case that the journalist has against him.
According to the resolution of the Chamber, the decision leaves everything without effect what was acted by Judge García as of October 17, 2024stating “defective procedural activity that is left without any legal value or effect.”
It was on October 18, 2024 that the judge of the Second Pluripersonal Court of First Instance granted substitute measures to Zamora at a hearing of Review of coercion measures.
The substitute measures allowed the house arrest to the journalist, who was more than 800 days in preventive detention.
After being consulted, José Rubén Zamora’s legal team said that this March 4 was presented an amparo action in the morning Before the amparo chamber, he affirms that the decision of the Chamber is “illegal.”
