The Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing (CIV) announced on Wednesday, March 5 that a total closure will be made for six hours at kilometer 11.5 of the route to El Salvador, as part of the construction work of two bridges.
According to the CIV, the construction of the first bridge in said kilometer has already been completed. However, to continue with the building of a second step, two lanes will be enabled on the newly finished structure, with meaning towards the capital.
“This adaptation requires mobilizing machinery and concrete separators to guarantee a safe transit in the next phase of the project,” said the civ.
In addition, he informed that, for the reconfiguration of the street and the authorization of these two lanes, the vehicular passage will be closed for six hours, from Friday, March 7 from 10 pm to 4.00 pm on Saturday, March 8.
The Road Conservation Executing Unit (COVIAL) works to expedite mobility in the work area and continues with the following tasks:
- Construction of the second bridge in the central part of the route, without affecting road circulation.
- Maintenance of four enabled lanes:
- Two lanes on the new bridge in the direction of the capital.
- Two lanes with meaning towards the east in the enlarged area.
“Route users are recommended to schedule their tours considering this closure or using alternate routes. In addition, the PMT of Santa Catarina Pinula and Provial will implement measures to regulate traffic during the process, ”said the Civ in a statement.
