The National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED) reports a fire Of great proportions in the area of El Paredón Beach, Sipacate, Escuintla.
He explained that relief bodies, municipal authorities and private entities work in coordination to extinguish the fire.
The Conred recommended to the residents of the place moistened with water the air near their homes, to prevent the fire from extending.
The entity explained that the incident was recorded on the banks of the beach In the communities of Cocori, Wall, Sipacate, Escuintla. The fire has affected several stores.

The Conred indicated that it has implemented a stepped response. From the moment of the report, the voluntary fire units were activated, who are working in the area, he added.
In addition, he coordinated with the Municipality of San José, with staff of the mills Magdalena and San Diego, as well as with the Port Company Quetzal, managing motor pumps, attending the emergency with resources and specialized personnel to combat the fire, he added.
“Conred staff are constantly monitoring the actions, while response technicians move to the affected area, the priority is to ensure that the fire is efficiently controlled to prevent it from spreading to other nearby areas,” the entity said.
Recommendations
The Conred called on the neighbors of the place: “to the inhabitants of the nearby areas, especially those that are in ranches or vulnerable homes, they are recommended to moisten the surroundings with water to avoid the propagation of fire.”

Fire teams of the mills Magdalena, San Diego and Pantaleón are supporting firefighters to control the fire on the Buena Vista, Sipacate wall.
