Five alleged members of Mara Salvatrucha, including two minors, were arrested in an operation in zone 3 of the capital, the PNC reported.

A group of supposed hitmen of the Mara Salvatrucha was captured in an operation of the National Civil Police (PNC) in the Manuel Colom Argueta neighborhood, in zone 3 of the capital.
The PNC reported that the capture of five alleged hitmen was achieved, two of them minors, who were referred to a court.
The PNC information details that these individuals are accused of multiple crimes, including an armed attack against a bus in zone 18, among other violent facts that are under investigation.
One of the detainees is Henry Geovany Vásquez Bac, 23, known as Cevichero, who has a wide criminal history, according to the PNC.
It was also captured Pablo Alexander Barrera Méndez, 18, known as Chuy, alleged hitman of the criminal structure.
The third detainee is Elmer José Godoy Herrera, 18, known as Barney, linked to illegal activities of the Mara Salvatrucha.
The authorities also reported that two children under 15 were located, who were used by the criminal structure to commit crimes and were sent to a minors court in conflict with the criminal law.
The PNC said that police officers 11 managed to neutralize these criminals and confiscate an important arsenal and illicit objects.

They were seized a .40 caliber gun, with its charger and nine ammunition, as well as a 9 mm caliber gun with a hopper containing 14 ammunition. This last weapon had the deleted registration number, which confirms its illicit origin.
In addition, 83 ammunition of different calibers, 25 small marijuana bags for drug trafficking, seven fangs with cocaine and five cell phones, used to coordinate their crimes, according to the PNC.
They also seized two digital scales and a bulletproof vest, which they used for their criminal operations, police said.
The authorities affirmed that this criminal structure was financed through drug trafficking.
