Derived from these visits and taking into account transfers, demand for services, hotel and food, An economic spill of Q2 thousand 880.7 million is expected. In this case the growth would be 7%, some Q196.9 million more compared to last year.
Most of those tourists will be national and about 160 thousand foreigners are expected, that attracted by the traditions of Holy Week or beaches, lakes, green areas, culture and archeology, or only to rest, they will travel to different destinations this season.
Internal tourism
In internal tourism, 3.3 million Guatemalans are expected to travel to the different destinations, with 5%growth, that is, 161 thousand 743 people more than in 2024.
It is estimated that Q2 thousand 100.2 million economic spill would generate, that is, an increase of 6% or Q114.3 million more.
Foreign tourism
While the arrival of 160 thousand foreigners or non -resident people in the country is expected, with growth of 16,800 people.

In both cases the growth would be 12%, compared to the same season of last year.

The projections of the Guatemalan Tourism Institute (INGUAT) take into account the period from April 11 to 20 (from Friday of Dolores to Sunday of Resurrection).

According to Inguat, growth will be driven by four segments during the prolonged rest: both those who travel to their places of origin into the interior of the country and take the opportunity to move to tourist places; who choose to visit tourist attractions; those that are concentrated in the sites of religious tradition; and non -resident foreigners or visitors to know the country during this season.
“All these movements dynamize the economy, both at the level of transport, consumption, hotels, recreation, and other services,” the Inguat said through the Social Communication Office.
Accessed by the impact that the bad conditions of the roads can represent, he added that he does not believe that this situation will affect tourism, and assured that the corresponding authorities are working so that the road system is in adequate conditions.
