Three ex -minor minors of the Lev Tahor sect were reunited with family after a court declared that their fundamental rights were violated.

The Attorney General’s Office (PGN) reported on Thursday, March 13 about the situation of three minors of the Lev Tahor sect.

He added that, after the reports made by the multidisciplinary teams, the Court of First Instance of Children and Adolescence declared the violation of the right to a dignified life, to health, to family stability and the protection against abuse in its modality of carelessness and negligent deals, in relation to three children who belonged to the sect.

At the request of the PGN, the three minors were reunited with their extended family, which must comply with the corresponding programs as part of the restitution process of their fundamental rights.

The Lev Tahor sect continues under investigation in Guatemala, since it has been pointed out of alleged abuses against minors.

In December 2024, the authorities carried out an operation in Oratory, Santa Rosa, where they rescued a group of minors who would have been victims of abuse.

The authorities have also reported the capture of leaders of the sect, some of which are indicated to carry out forced marriages.

On March 10 it was reported that 14 girls, boys and Adolescents rescued from the Lev Tahor sect were reunited with relatives who met the processes established by the PGN.
