Guatemala has different holidays and holidays. Know what breaks there will be and how they can be enjoyed for 2025.

The Labor Code establishes different types of holidays and rows in Guatemala derived from civic, religious celebrations and other commemorations.

Among the holidays are holidays, which correspond to the patron saint in honor of a specific Catholic saint. These may vary according to the municipality of residence.

According to Guatemalan legislation, The first break is enjoyed every January 1 and the last one from noon on December 31. However, there are other romes with salary enjoyment that can be enjoyed, among which are those corresponding to Holy Week.

In Guatemala City there are around 13 holidays, including the holiday corresponding to August 15 for the commemoration of Assumption Day.

How will holidays and holidays enjoy in Guatemala?

The holidays enjoyed nationwide correspond to different civic, religious dates and other observances. These are those stipulated by the Labor Code:

  1. Holy Thursday. This holiday is scheduled for April 17, 2025. It is the second of the year.
  2. Good Friday. It will be enjoyed on April 18, 2025.
  3. Gloria Saturday. This holiday corresponds to April 19 of the current year.
  4. Thursday, May 1. Workers Day. This break does not move or modify, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitutional Court in 2020.
  5. Monday, June 30. Army Day. It will be enjoyed as part of a long weekend.
  6. Friday, August 15. Holiday of the capital city for the day of the Assumption, as well as in other municipalities. It is not enjoyed throughout the country.
  7. Monday, September 15. Independence Day. There will be a long weekend.
  8. Monday, October 20. ASUETO ALUSIVE TO THE DAY OF THE REVOLUTION.
  9. Saturday, November 1. All Hallows. This date is not modified.
  10. Wednesday, December 24. It is enjoyed from noon, as established by law.
  11. Thursday, December 25. ASUETO FOR CHRISTMAS. It is not modified.
  12. Wednesday, December 31. It rests from 12 hours, without any change.
  13. Locality holiday day. This date varies in each municipality and is considered a holiday for its employer origin.
