The Subdirectorate of Criminal Investigation of the National Civil Police and the Public Ministry arrested nine members of a criminal network that offered houses and land through social networks. After the victims deposited the money for the alleged sale, they were cited to sign the transfer documents, but were killed.
The investigation began on June 5, 2024, after the murder of Marcelo Yaxón Pablo, leader of the CUC.

Armed men listened to the conversation and began firing at Yaxón Pablo, Yaxón Meletz, Domingo Montejo and the pilot Raúl Barrera.
During the armed attack, Yaxón Pablo and Domingo Montejo died, while the survivors managed to flee to get safe.

According to records of the Public Ministry and the National Civil Police, the operations to dismantle the criminal gang were carried out in three phases.
