Mexican authorities found this Friday, March 14 in Monterrey, in northern Mexico, a 16 -year -old Guatemala teenager who had a disappearance report in his country for almost a year and who was looking to migrate alone to the United States.
Members of the Municipal Police of Monterrey, capital of the border state of Nuevo León, noticed the presence of the child when they made prevention tours through the streets of the Bella Vista neighborhood.
According to the Ministry of Municipal Security, when interviewing the young woman, she revealed that she left Guatemala with the dream of reaching the United States, but that she had not been able to achieve it.
He explained that he had a week in the city and not knowing anyone went to wander through the streets.
The municipal police verified the available information about the young woman and found that she had a search report since June 26 last year, when she left her Chichipate people, in the Puerto Barrio municipality, Izabal, in Guatemala.
The authorities led the adolescent to the Monterrey Police facilities for medical assessment and to receive attention in the Unit for the Attention to Victims of Family and Gender Violence.
Subsequently, they handed it over to the National Institute of Migration for the corresponding procedures to return to Guatemala.
