A forest fire reported at kilometer 14.5 Route to the Atlantic merited eight hours of continuous work. But the incident was controlled “almost totally,” the municipal fire department reported.
The paramedics arrived at about 18 hours to the village the purgatory in zone 18. Firefighters received alerts about a fire of great proportions.
For the place and the little visibility, the municipal firefighters had complications to do their homework. But around 2 in the morning of this March 15 they had already managed to control most of the fire.
They could not access an area apart from a ravine, so they expect it to be smaller, be extinguished by itself. But to avoid inconveniences, today staff of the Socorro Corps will inspect the area again.
Although the work of the paramedics managed to control the emergency, they want to confirm that it was extinguished to totality. Since in that area there is a sector with enough weeds, which could reactivate the fire.
