In a space where the followers of the Otaku culture can meet, the second edition of Anime returns with Guatemala. This meeting seeks that attendees enjoy manga, participate in cosplay and video games, and know the actors who give voice to their favorite characters.

This year, the event that summons fans of all ages will offer exclusive forums with international guests such as Isabel Martiñón, Lalo Garza and Montserrat Aguilar, recognized for giving life to emblematic characters such as Naruto or Goku.

The organizers reported that, in this second edition, two statues in real size of anime characters will be presented. In addition, there will be stands of products, thematic gastronomy and video games.

Anime with Guatemala 2025 will take place on Sunday, March 23, In Hall 6 of Exhibitions of the Industry Park, located on the 8th 2-33 street, zone 9, from 9 a.m. to 20 hours.

An event for anime lovers

Mario Luna, anime producer with Guatemala, stressed that this space offers an exclusive atmosphere for the followers of the Otaku anime and culture. “Last year was crazy,” he said, remembering that more than 6,000 people crowded the Industry Park, where recognized voices such as Mario Castañeda, René García and Gerardo Reyero participated.

Luna said that this edition will feature an international luxury line, with guests such as Montserrat Aguilar, dubbing actress that plays Sakura Haruno in Naruto, and Víctor Ugarte, voice of Harry Potter and Sasuke Uchiha.

Isabel Martiñón and Lalo Garza, referents of Latin American dubbing will also participate, who will share their experiences in exclusive panels about their career and memorable characters.

This year, production has made an important investment to include interactive video games, consolidating the event as the unique in Guatemala in offering this type of experience. Likewise, a statue in real size of Naruto will be exhibited for the first time.

According to Luna, there are only 66 statues from Naruto in the world, and Guatemala has the number 26, which makes this event a unique international experience.

The figure represents an emblematic moment of anime: the confrontation between Naruto and Pain, after the destruction of the leaf village. “Naruto has a very strong motivational message, and this piece reflects that spirit,” added Marian von, producer of the event.

This exhibition will be added a Goku sculpture in its ultra instinct phase, 2.10 meters high. Both figures will be presented exclusively during the event.

Luna commented that the festival will also include spaces for Transformers and video games such as Halowith interactive areas and tournaments. In addition, the participants of the Cosplay contest will be rewarded, both in individual and group category, with cash awards.

The cost of the general ticket is Q60, and children who measure up to 1.10 meters may enter free of charge.

Guests share their anime enthusiasm with 2025

Part of international guests expressed their enthusiasm for participating in the event. Víctor Ugarte said: “I am very happy to return to Guatemala in this second edition. We go with great expectations to share our work, our characters and our experiences with fans.”

Ugarte, voice of Sasuke Uchiha (Naruto) and Harry Potter, indicated that these projects have marked different generations. “You see how people who grew up with anime now share it with their children,” he said.

Mons Aguilar, dubbing actress of characters like Sakura, from Naruto, said: “It is the first time I leave Mexico to attend a convention. I confess that it makes me nervous, but I love to share with dubbing lovers and anime, because without them we would not be anything.”

Aguilar also shared his appreciation for another character who has interpreted: “I really like Tohru, from Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid. I identify with her because she is crazy, interactive and delivered all for whom she loves. It is fun to interpret and understand it. ”

Isabel Martiñón, Naruto’s voice, said she felt lucky to have given life to such an epic character. “I am very grateful to share my work and talent with Guatemala,” he said.

Lalo Garza, another of the referents of dubbing, also expressed his joy: “Many years ago I did not visit Guatemala, and I keep beautiful memories of its people, their food and their warmth. I am excited to participate in this event and meet again with the Guatemalan public.”
