Nery Adelso Martínez Villalta, Officer of the Specialized Division in Criminal Investigation of the National Civil Police (PNC), faces judgment for allegedly violating a 14 -year -old girl.
According to the victim’s statements and investigations of the Public Ministry (MP), Martínez went to a mechanical workshop in Villa Hermosa, San Miguel Petapa, and a few meters was a dining room, where the young minor worked.
According to the girl’s story to the authorities, she began a dialogue with the PNC agent and, after a while, the uniformed took her to a hotel, where she abused her sexually.
The MP said that, on some occasions, the officer used the patrol to transfer the child to the hotel.
On April 9, 2024, the investigating body reported that Martínez Villalta was linked to criminal proceedings for the crime of violation with aggravating circumstances.
He added that, during the intermediate stage, the judge of first criminal instance with specialized competence in crimes of human trafficking modified the crime of sexual activities paid with minors.
The MP thesis argues that the agent committed the crime of violation and will raise the Criminal Judgment Court with specialized competence in crimes of human trafficking that modifies the qualification of the crime.
The minor was also abused by gang members
The 14 -year -old girl who worked in the dining room is one of at least 12 minors who were victims of sexual abuse by gang members of the 18 neighborhood held in sector 11 of the preventive for men in zone 18, says the MP.
“Adolescents in danger”It is the name of the operation led by the MP and the PNC on March 20, 2023 against a structure that sexually exploited minorsbetween 12 and 17 years.
According to the MP and the PNC, a dozen girls, boys and adolescents were exploited and sexually attacked by deprived of liberty. Even, according to the investigations, one of the victims was sexually violated by 10 gang members in one day.
The case, investigated for three years and still in development, began with alleged relationships of friendship or romance between gang members and adolescents. The minors, excited, were invited to “have fun”, but the final destination was the preventive of zone 18.
One of the victims told the MP how the structure operated to allow entry to that prison and even spend the night there for two or three nights.
The statement was offered in 2022 and the victim said that she was forced, along with other girls, to have sex with members of the 18th neighborhood in sector 11, after being recruited in a colony in Guatemala City.
Preliminary investigations reveal that, in areas where neighborhood 18, there are women – war or adolescents with gangs – who are responsible for capturing other minors, even through social networks.
The specialized unit of the MP documented the entry of girls and adolescents, between 12 and 16 years, to prisons where they were sexually abused and recruited in order to integrate them into the gang and its different clicks.
Way of operating
The investigation identified the way of operating the criminal structure to capture the minors and force them to integrate into different cliques.
The victims were captured in social networks, instant messaging applications, family networks, educational centers and other spaces, where they began contact with gang members.
Subsequently, they were transferred in vehicles driven by collaborators (Taxis, Mototaxis and Urban Buses), paid by gang members or for money that adolescents obtained from their parents.
In that trust relationship, minors agreed to leave, allegedly to visit shopping centers, but on the way they changed the destination to the preventive of zone 18.
In the cars, pirate taxis usually traveled the biological daughter of the recruiter. A few meters from the tour, she descended from the vehicle and only the recruited girl or adolescent continued. It is there where the Calvary began.
Women linked to the gang used the birth certifications of their daughters to enter other minors in the prison center, where they were delivered to the gang members, who abused them sexually.
All this happened with the apparent permissiveness of the prison guards, who allegedly received bribes to allow this type of sexual violence within the prison. As a result of these facts, they were captured and LINKED TO CRIMINAL PROCESS 29 PERSONS, among them 19 guards of the penitentiary system.
