Maria Shriver, ex -wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger, tells in her memoirs how the end of her marriage was, after discovering that the actor had been unfaithful and that she had an illegitimate child with her domestic employee, a woman of Guatemalan origin.
During that period, they built a family composed of four children.
Before divorcing, Shriver learned that Schwarzenegger had been unfaithful and that, as a result of that relationship, he had an illegitimate son with a domestic employee of his home, Mildred Baena.
American media reveal that the result of that adventure was born Joseph Baena in 1997, days after the birth of the child’s minor, Christopher Schwarzenegger.
Now, Shriver has revealed in his memoirs I am Maria how he faced his divorce.
According to the magazine PeopleShriver has expressed in the pages of his new book that the end of his marriage was a “devastating blow that changed his life”, after the death of his parents.
My twenty -five -year -old marriage collapsed. I broke my heart, broke my soul, broke what was left of me. Without my marriage, my parents, my work, the dike of my denial, with a capital D, who had maintained my whole life, simply shattered, Shriver recounts.
He adds: I consumed the pain and tormented confusion, anger, fear, sadness and anxiety. He was no longer sure who he was or where he belonged. Honestly, it was brutal and was terrified.
He said that, after having passed through various types of therapy and time in a convent, he finally found his soul.
I started writing from the depths of my being. Through my poetry, I have found a woman terrified for not living up to her family’s legacy; Fear of not being important enough, a daughter, sister, wife, mother and journalist good enough, he says.
Regarding the four children of the former, the journalist admitted that they had a very bad time to see that “everything related to her world and the well -being of her home was uprooted in an instant”, but, despite this, he is proud of the “value and courage they exhibited” their children.
For now, none of them has a link with Baena, his illegitimate brother; However, Arnold does maintain a relationship with their son, and they have sometimes been seen sharing moments as a father and son.
