Xelajú still does not find the regularity that led him to be champion in the last tournament, but his coach, Amarini Villatoro, made it clear that his greatest concern is not an alleged conformism in the squad, but the classification to the final phase.

At a press conference, the Chivo strategist responded forcefully to the statements of José Calderón, who moments ago suggested that the team has fallen into comfort after having lifted the title.

Villatoro acknowledged that his team had difficulties in the last game, especially in the first half, but highlighted the improvement in the complement. “We lacked a little more in decision making, in precision and improving tranquility. They (municipal) defended themselves and we must recognize that, they endured the pressure well,” said the technician.

On Xelajú’s situation in the table, Amarini was clear:

I am worried about the classification, we are in a difficult situation. We have to get points regardless of whether you have good game lapses. Because in the final phase, I know the material I have, we know the players that Xelajú has and this team can harm the final stages. ”

The coach also referred to the attitude of his squad and what is lived internally. “My players know what team are. There are many things that are said in the dressing room, but that has to be left inside. This is football and I always tell them: either we all sink or save us all.”

Villatoro dismissed any sign of lack of commitment and emphasized that he does not like to point out guilty.

I don’t believe in accommodations or anything like that. The players who are in Xelajú understand that they are in a team that aspires to always fight. We are going through this and I think looking for names or looking for me guilty I don’t like. In the end, this is a team sport. ”

The strategist also put in perspective the present of the club, remembering that despite the difficulties, Xelajú has been one of the most successful teams in recent years. “You have to remember that of five tournaments we carry, two have won them Xela. So you have to continue working and try to classify,” Villatoro concluded.

With these words, the goat coach made clear his position: the problem is not the lack of ambition, but the urgency of adding points. Now, the team must demonstrate on the court that it still has arguments to defend its title.
