The 26 -year -old Daniel Salvador, and Crisanto, 27, both surnames Caal Ba, were captured by the authorities of Houston, Texas, syndicated to kill another national knife near a highway from that city.
They face charges for the death of the Guatemalan Otto Pop Coc, 23, which occurred on March 14, 2025, near the Interestatal Highway 45 of Houston.
According to a report by the authorities, released by the media of the United States, the brothers are indicated to have caused death to Otto Pop Coc.
It was established that Daniel Caal was already in custody of the authorities for other charges not related to crime, while Crisanto was arrested on March 25. Both are accused of murder.
It was also indicated that the Caal brothers have a retention of the ICE, which is a request that makes the United States immigration and customs control service to a prison or police agency, so that this service has more time to determine if it deports a person.
The attack against the Guatemalan migrant
The official court report indicates that on March 14, 2025, Pop Coc walked to his home after leaving a convenience store.
On the way, which passed through the service of the I-45 highway, he was attacked by two men, who stabbed him repeatedly.
The victim managed to call the emergency number 911 and walked several blocks until reaching 600 of South Interstate Highway 45.
There, a man who did not witness the attack saw him walking through the place and asking for help, because he was bleeding abundantly.
This person also contacted the paramedics and offered him help, but when the lifeguards arrived, the Guatemalan had already died, authorities said.
Pop Coc was declared dead in the place.
The Houston authorities reported that at the moment the reason for the attack is not known, but they managed to identify the Caal brothers as the assumptions responsible for the crime.
