Medrano requested on Monday, April 7 undergo the special procedure for acceptance of charges in the dignified housing case, in which Q10 million would have been diverted, judicial sources reported.
The application was filed before the Third Criminal Judgment, which accepted it and scheduled the Audience of acceptance for charges for April 24.
The intention of the former mayor to declare himself guilty was manifested during an hearing held for the repetition of the trial, after a resolution of the Constitutional Court (CC). In 2019, Medrano was favored by the Third Tenth Court of Criminal Judgment, which acquitted him from the facts indicated by the Public Ministry (MP), indicating that his guilt was not proven.
In this case, Medrano is indicated by the crimes of peculation for subtraction and abuse of authority.
Seven defendants
In the case dignified housing there are six people prosecuted for various crimes. Like Medrano, their defenses requested to submit to the special procedure for acceptance of charges prior to the start of the debate.
