A user reported that on April 4, 2025 the dock of the National Port Company Santo Tomás de Castilla (Empornac) was collapsed due to two factors.
In the video he complained about a lousy service in Garitas of the Superintendence of Tax Administration (SAT) pointing out that they do not have the system working one hundred percent and that the employees are supposedly abandoned their job.
They also mentioned that in the port enclosure it is difficult to be attended and that they argue that they do not have the machinery to be able to raise or lower containers.
It was also noted that they spend a waiting time for five hours to enter and three more to wait for the container to lower for the same reason for the lack of machinery or equipment for it.
It is false, says Empornac
However, José de la Peña, president of the Empornac Board of Directors replied that the video is false and that people interested in damaging the institution for about three days are circulating videos and making false signs.
He added that they have made monitoring and the areas indicated in the videos are empty or with little waiting row and have observed that the load and containers are flowing
The official provided photographs indicating that they are the areas indicated in the video, mentioned that they were taken on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 during the day, and on the last day also at night, but shows that the areas are empty or with little influx.
He explains that these are the dispatch areas, where there were only two units in a row at night, that Empornac and SAT modules were working in their entirety, and that patio 10 and the dispatch scales had no users.

He also said that the number of ships and cargo has increased because they are in high fruit load season.
Regarding the number of ships, he said he has grown since they had 20 per week and reached 28 in the same period.
The official indicated that the equipment is in use, and have detected that the container transfer becomes slowly because shipping companies leave the load in the deposit instead of removing it.
The entire port team is being worked with, and there is no collapse or a crisis as such.
Carla Caballeros, Executive Director of the Agro Chamber (Camagro) said she has not seen the content of the video and could not comment on the matter, but when referring in general, she commented that one of the biggest costs that producers have are related to the logistics infrastructure.
He explained that the arrears in both ports are greater and not only affect competitiveness if they do not limit the ability to grow economically due to lack of operational capacity in those enclosures.
Therefore, it is increasingly urgent that the ports and roads are the priority of the agenda, the board added.
