On Saturday, April 19, Juan Pablo Isaza (guitar and voice), Juan Pablo Villamil (guitar), Martín Vargas (drummer and vocalist) and Simón Vargas (bassist) spoke before their trip to the port with Free press and Guatevisión about what it means for them to be in the country and the projects that are coming in the future.
You have matured with your fans. What does it feel to have grown with your audience?
First of all, a lot of thanks, Because, without a doubt, what for us is clear is that, without our audience, probably the place where we would be would be totally different. We also feel very lucky to be able to make music that is not what sounds most. In a way, in terms of gender and format, there are not so many bands, but we always wanted to explore them in a very organic way, and we feel that the evolution that our sound has had and the way in which people have done it is also the most pleasant, said Simón Vargas, who is responsible for the bass.
You are friends, but you are also artists. How do disagreements overcome?
Notice that lately we have been talking a lot about that and it is a constant theme: see how one overcomes these things that are winds, but let’s say it is normal in the day to day to meet these crossroads. Lately we are very fans to go for one thing, and that is that the strongest conviction wins. Is this the third time in Guatemala in the last four years? If they had to tell an anecdote or make a song of what they have lived here, what would they tell?
I must say that it has something very particular and has to do with the location of the place and where we are at this time, because I think we had never stayed in a hotel that was so far from the place where we are going to play. I think it is something very particular, because yesterday we were tested, they were two hours on the way: go, touch, come back here, again two hours of road. But he also speaks a lot that people are willing to make that trip to go see us; Talk about how good the concert and energy will be. Whenever we have been in Guatemala, people with very special energy have served ussaid Martín Vargas, the smallest of the four and drummer in the group.
They just finished the biggest tour of his career, so far. How do they feel? Was it what they expected? And what is coming now for Morat?
The tour of The stadiums It was an absolute dream for us. We spend incredible, we also spend it here in Guatemala. I think that if we could change one thing would be the number of places we could reach with people. It was a huge scourge tour. Retting those scenarios was a complication, and we are a band that likes to go to many places. We needed several “pending issues.”
