The funeral of Pope Francis will be held next Saturday, April 26 at the Vatican Square of San Pedro, in the presence of Donald Trump, Javier Milei, King Felipe VI and other heads of state, as well as hundreds of thousands of faithful.
Believers around the world may, however, begin to say goodbye to the first Latin American pontiff starting Wednesday, when their coffin is exposed for three days in the Basilica of San Pedro, the Holy See.
The mortal remains of Jorge Mario Bergoglio rest for now in the chapel of the residence of Santa Marta, where he died on Monday, at 88, for a stroke, almost a month after leaving a long hospitalization due to respiratory problems.
