The 2025 Platinum Awards Gala, held in Spain, marked the closure of the cinema recognition season, highlighting the most creative and risky proposals of the Ibero -American industry. Movies like The infiltrated, Jockey, One hundred years of loneliness and Ainda this (I’m still here) they shone in this edition, consolidating among the best productions of the year.
Since its foundation, the Platinum Awards have had the main objective of giving visibility to the Latin American cinema and projecting it before a global audience. This twelfth edition reaffirmed that commitment, recognizing new voices, emerging filmmakers and productions that challenge traditional limits.
The ceremony, transmitted in more than 180 countries, was attended by 35 films nine series and 16 countries, including the participation of the outstanding Guatemalan filmmaker Jayro Bustamantewho competed With its most recent production, Rita, reaffirming its position as one of the referents of Latin American cinema.
The gala also vibrated with musical performances by artists such as Pablo Alborán and Prince Royce, who contributed a touch of joy and emotion to a night in which Ibero -American talent was the great protagonist.
In the cinematographic sphere, the miniseries One hundred years of lonelinessbased on the literary work of Gabriel García Márquez and distributed by Netflix, it was consolidated as the most awarded production of the night, obtaining awards as best television series or miniseries of fiction or documentary and best male interpretation in miniseries or television series for Claudio Cataño.
Brazilian production I’m still here He also stood out when he took the three awards to which he was nominated: Best Ibero -American Fiction film, Best Female Interpretation for Fernanda Torres and Best Directorate for Walter Salles.
During the gala, the Platinum Prize for Honor Eva Longoria was given, in recognition of its artistic career and their contribution to the representation of Ibero -American women in international cinema.
