The PNC spokesman Edwin Monroy, said on Sunday, April 27 that, in the case of the Roosevelt settlement, in El Quintanal, they have had approaches with the director; In addition, they have worked with criminal investigation, antimaras and anti -Pandillas, and “it can be reported that there is no alert as such, classes are developing normally.”
He added that he has worked with research equipment on a possible gang situation, which was ruled out; However, there are assigned agents to provide security at the schedules of entry and exit of classes.
The information transcended after April 25 was warned that the aforementioned educational center was closed by gangs threats, although the classes developed normally, according to the teachers.
On that occasion, the Deputy Minister of Education, Francisco Cabrera, referred to the issue and indicated that the case is under analysis and are waiting for the recommendations that the Ministry of the Interior can issue, either to implement virtual classes or continue in person.
Monroy added this Sunday that the safety of schools also extends to the departments, where the Directorate of Crime Prevention is responsible for implementing programs in educational centers.
In addition, the authorities confirmed that the schools that are at greater risk are in zone 6, zone 18 and zone 12 of Villa Nueva, where they maintain crime prevention plans, which, according to the PNC, allow young people to stay away from the gangs.
According to the PNC, the Safe School Plan is currently maintained, which covers about 56 educational establishments in the city.
He said that the PNC agents have the instruction to provide security at class input and exit schedules. The objective is to guarantee the safety of students, teachers and parents.
