Canastuj and Toc, united by the passion and challenge of the return Bantrab

Cycling in Guatemala is a sport that is lived with passion and family, and this is demonstrated by brothers José and Josué Canastuj, along with Gerson and Fredy Toc, who participate with joy and delivery in the fourth edition of the International Cycling Tour Bantrab 2025.

Canastuj and Toc last names are already a reference in national cycling. Their natural talent, perseverance and competitive spirit have led them to represent Guatemala with dignity in different competitions, both national and international, leaving a mark in previous editions of the return to Guatemala and the return Bantrab.

Cycling It requires commitment, discipline and sacrifice. Living this family sport, as they do, represents unconditional support that lightens the demands of daily training and preparation.

Rivalry and passion at every kilometer

In this edition of La Vuelta Bantrab, the Canastuj brothers compete from different teams, which adds a touch of healthy rivalry on the asphalt. José currently runs for ECA electricity cycling, while Josué represents Red Hook Guatemala. Both recognize that, despite having individual objectives, they share the same emotion for the performance of the other.

“He is one of the most believed in me at the time and continues to do it. My family’s support is essential. We are enjoying this return Bantrab and very happy to be here, ”said José, before starting the second stage.

Joshua, meanwhile, said: “I am very happy to run here. I know we are in different teams, but the feeling and the goal is the same. If he wins, I win; If we lose, we do it together. It is a very beautiful experience to share a route with my brother. ”

Perfect chemistry about the bike

Gerson and Fredy Toc also share more than the shirt. They run together again for ECA electricity cycling, a team that has seen them grow and strengthen as a competitive duo. His mutual understanding on and off the route has been key in the good results obtained.

Gerson points out that Backup of his brother was fundamental to win the Cyanmalan Tour to Guatemala in 2023“We understand each other very well. He has always been to me and when he needs it, I will also be there for him,” Gerson said before leaving in the second stage.

Fredy, meanwhile, this Thursday fought for the stage to be in the escapees and win points in the fly goals, demonstrating that the TOCs remain a pillar in the national representation.
