Why did the girl leave the party where her parents were?
The girl was recorded that night of April 18 while He danced with her friends. Jimena Jerónimo wore black pants and a pink blouse.
At about 9:00 p.m., the child told her parents that she wanted to go home and, to entertain, she asked her mother’s cell phone.

The child arrived at her home, where her younger brother was, who told him that he would go to the store, located about 200 meters.

“I said,” Jimena, “that it was already late for him to walk alone on the street. I told him to leave for his house,” said the owner of the store to the researchers.
The woman said she observed the girl walking in the direction of the party; That was the last time the neighbors saw her alive.
At 22.22 hours, a camera caught the moment when Jimena went from co -driver on a red motorcycle. The driver was allegedly Franklin Gustavo Aceituno Argueta, 22.
The minor wore the same clothes he used to attend the party: a pink blouse and black pants.
Aceituno Argueta lives about 100 meters from the house of Jimena Jerónimo Argueta and his parents. According to the investigations, Aceituno is cousin of the child and lived for several years as a family.
After 10.30 pm, the child’s parents received the alert that Jimena had not returned home.
“The brother realizes that he did not return and went to look for his parents to warn them that Jimena was not there,” said the Prosecutor’s Office.
The search began that same night and, at 1.00 in the morning of April 19, residents of the Ocosito village, San Sebastián, Retalhuleu, found a body in residential Buenaventura, which is still in the urbanization phase.
“The girl was naked; she had no pants or underwear. When we did the expertise, we detected that the victim had several blows to the head,” said the Prosecutor’s Office.
So far, the investigators of the case indicated that they are waiting for the results of the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) to determine what type of aggression Jimena suffered.
The Prosecutor’s Office indicated that Aceituno Argueta allegedly tried to sexually abuse his cousin and cause death.
“He tried to sexually abuse the child and, when Jimena struggled, his cousin,” Argueta’s Aceituno – hit her and caused her death, “the Public Ministry said.
He added that possibly the suspect offered the victim to take her to another store to buy a recharge for the phone.
“Because of the confidence that generated her, she,” Jima, “got on the motorcycle,” said the Prosecutor’s Office.
Cameras capture the suspect’s return without the slightest
The crime occurred about seven kilometers from Jimena’s house. The suspect’s route was recorded in cameras of several shops.
In one of the images it is observed that, after 23.00, Franklin returns along the same route, but already without the minor as co -pilot.
The National Civil Police (PNC) indicated that the pasola type motorcycle in which Franklin Aceituno was mobilized was borrowed.
Capture of the suspect
On May 1, the PNC and the Public Ministry captured Aceituno Argueta in the Caserío Recinos, San Sebastián, Retalhuleu, for being the alleged responsible for trying to abuse and kill his cousin Jimena Jerónimo. The MP indicates it of the crime of femicide.
