Within the framework of commemoration, The Association of Museums of Guatemala (AMG) and the National Committee ICOM Guatemala have announced a series of activities that will be carried out in different museums in the country.
There are more than 60 museums registered in Guatemala, and several of them will organize different events during the month.
Next, five museums that have planned activities for all audiences are shared, according to the AMG calendar and the National ICOM Committee:
1. Sports Museum
Do you want to know the construction and development process of the Sports City Since 1946? This exhibition is the ideal time for it. During the tour, you can see historical moments of Guatemalan sport, from the planning of the VI Central American and Caribbean Games until 1950, when Guatemala was based for the first time.

2. Vical Museum of Pre -Columbian Art and Modern Glass

3. Primitive – Contemporary Guatemalan Art Museum
From May 1 to 31, this museum will offer guided tours with emphasis on the theme of the International Museum Day 2025: The future of museums in communities in rapid transformation. Admission is free.
It is located in the 4th Street and 3 North Avenue, No. 10, Interior Casa Ancient El Jaulón, Antigua Guatemala.
4. Children’s Museum
This space could not be missing in the list. One of its special activities will be the elaboration of masks inspired by the characters of the child version of the Popol Vuh.
Children can create their own masks with materials provided by the museum, according to the official statement.
The activity will take place from May 8 to 30, from Tuesday to Friday, from 8.30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the room our inheritance. The cost of the entrance is Q45. The museum is located on 5-00 street, zone 13, Guatemala City.
5. Popol Vuh Museum
The Popol Vuh Museum, located at Francisco Marroquín University, will organize various activities, including the Tertulia night.
