Allan Daniel Mendoza, known as “Carnitas”, in audience this Friday, May 9 agreed to be extradited to the United States.

Mendoza is required for crimes related to drug trafficking, as an investigation indicates it of belonging to the Structure of “Los Lorenzana”.

On April 17, the Public Ministry (MP) coordinated the capture of Mendoza, who “is required by the United States District Court for the Columbia district for the crimes of conspiracy to distribute five kilograms or more than a mixture and substance that contains a detectable amount of cocaine with knowledge, intention and reasonable cause to believe that said controlled substance would be illegally imported to the United States”.

“Also for using a firearm, during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime,” according to the MP.

On that occasion, the MP reported that an investigation carried out by the authorities of compliance with the law, identified a large -scale drug trafficking organization based on Guatemala, known as the “Lorenzana” drug trafficking organization.

“This organization was responsible for transporting and distributing multiple tons of cocaine from Venezuela, Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras and other places for distribution to Mexican drug trafficking organizations, with the knowledge that it would be distributed in the United States,” said the research entity.

The MP added: “The organization uses strongly armed men, with several firearms, machine guns and destructive devices (grenades). The required one is one of the high lieutenants and representative of the leader of the Lorenzana organization, Haroldo Waldemar Lorenzana Terraza, to receive cargoes of cocaine.”
