The Municipal Traffic Police (PMT) reported that on Monday, May 12, the demonstration of the teaching was mobilized in the entrance to the capital, in the section of zone 18 on the route to the Atlantic.
He added that the group moved along kilometer 4.5 of the aforementioned route, in the direction of Martí street, zone 6.
In images shared by the PMT, the group of protesters is observed during their route, and affectation in vehicular traffic is reported.
On May 11, Amílcar Montejo, Road Spokesman of the PMT, indicated that protesters belong to the Union of Education Workers of Guatemala (Steg), of the Department of Guatemala.
During the tour they will also pass through the Belize bridge and the José Milla and Vidaurre road, and will change course in the 6th. Avenida and 5a. Street in Zone 2, towards Jocotenango Park.
It is planned to also transit through the San Sebastián Park to the Departmental Government building, where they are expected to deliver a document.
The details of the requests of the protesters are still unknown.
