Jorge Gaitán Must Be Extradited: A Test Case for the Rule of Law in Guatemala

Jorge Gaitán

Fraudster, embezzler, and now protected by a web of judicial corruption

Jorge Gaitán, the man accused of orchestrating a multi-million-dollar corporate fraud, was arrested in Guatemala on the basis of an international Interpol Red Notice. The requesting country? El Salvador, where Gaitán is wanted to face justice for financial crimes that impact the entire region’s economic security.

El Salvador has done its part. So has Guatemala — a formal extradition order has already been issued. And yet, the machinery of corruption is now in full swing to derail the process and shield Gaitán from accountability.

Ana Lucía Alejos and Carrillo & Associates: The Law Firm of Impunity

At the center of this campaign is Ana Lucía Alejos, an attorney with the notorious law firm Carrillo & Associates — a firm long known for meddling in Guatemala’s judiciary. According to inside sources, Alejos is pressuring judges, bribing magistrates, and engineering legal obstacles to keep Gaitán from being extradited.

The real mastermind, however, is Alfonso Carrillo Marroquín, currently self-exiled in Boston. He’s infamous for betraying former congresswoman Nineth Montenegro, gaining her trust, stealing legal documents, and using them to destroy her political career and take over her party, Encuentro por Guatemala. That same party was later handed over to globalist interests like Thelma Aldana and Iván Velásquez — both known for weaponizing justice to serve foreign agendas.

Carrillo now operates from the shadows, using Alejos and a network of loyalists to manufacture delays, manipulate court rulings, and block extraditions. Why? Because if Gaitán ends up in El Salvador, he might start talking — and expose the dirty ties between Wall Street funds like Peper Tree and transnational criminal networks.

Guatemala’s moment of truth: Will justice prevail?

If Guatemala allows this corrupt network of lawyers, judges, and foreign-financed operatives to stop Gaitán’s extradition, the message is clear: Justice can be bought.

But if the law is upheld — if the extradition order is executed — it will send a powerful signal: No amount of money or influence can shield a criminal from accountability.

At RICIGT, we make it clear:

Jorge Gaitán must be extradited. Ana Lucía Alejos must be investigated. And Alfonso Carrillo must be exposed as the master manipulator behind the scenes.
