Insivumeh predicts the increase in generalized rains throughout the national territory.

The weather service of the National Institute of Seismology, Volcanology, Meteorology and Hydrology (Insivumeh) reported that it continues with the monitoring of a low pressure system with high probability of cyclonic formation, so it predicts that it intensifies tropical depression during the next 48 hours.
He explained that the system is located south of El Salvador and moves to the northwest, approaching Guatemala.
Due to its direction and intensification, an increase in generalized rainfall is expected throughout the country, which can occur intermittently.
According to Insivumeh, the largest accumulated can register from the south to the center of the national territory, especially in the regions of the West, Pacific, Central Altiplano and Transversal Strip of the North.
The institution recommends that the population take the necessary precautions against the planned rains, since these could cause lahars in the volcanic chain, sudden floods of rivers, floods, landslides or damage to the country’s road network.
Insivumeh said that it maintains constant monitoring of any Hydrometeorological system that may directly or indirectly affect Guatemala.
