With a brief message on his social networks, the Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz responded to the controversy that has generated a stir on digital platforms, after a fan accused him of taking advantage of her since he was 18 years old.
The artist’s response arose after Ivet Playà, originally from Barcelona, denounced through his networks to have been the victim of “inhuman behaviors and espionage” by the singer.
“I feel humiliated and dirty,” Playà said when he told her experience: “For the girl I went, but especially for the woman I am today.” According to its testimony, the relationship began in 2015, when Sanz followed it on social networks and initiated a progressive interaction.
According to Playà, the link was deepened and met in person for the first time when she turned 18. “For me it has been very hard to assume that Alejandro Sanz knew perfectly who I was from the beginning,” he said.
At 19, she began working as a saleswoman in a store to pay for the artist’s concerts in Spain, attending ten presentations in a month and a half. At 22, he moved from Barcelona to Madrid to collaborate with the singer’s team, which derived – according to his version – in an intimate and sexual relationship.
Playà stressed that Sanz knew the 30 -year difference between them. “He knew. He played with my dreams, with my illusion,” he said, in addition to denouncing that his private communications were allegedly spied.
What she thought would be a dream ended, as she states, in a nightmare: “I feel deceived, used, humiliated and even dirty because I don’t know who could have seen what sent her in privacy.”
The accusations intensified when Playà said that Sanz’s actions “crossed moral and even human limits.” Finally, he declared that he felt a moral responsibility to speak after understanding that the link was not healthy.
The controversy divided opinions on social networks. While some supported Playà, others accused her of harassing the singer for years and said she was aware of her decisions.
In the program Lateof TelecincoPlayà explained that he decided to speak because “he couldn’t heal.” “After many difficult months, locked up with myself, I managed to name what I lived. Now I feel strong to tell everything,” he told Euronews.
During his relationship, he shared several images with Sanz. In 2017 he published a photograph with the message: “You never let go. I no longer imagine a life without walking from your hand.” The last image dates from 2023.
Sanz breaks silence and indicates economic pressures
Given the wave of reactions, Sanz spoke via Instagram: “Ivet, I had a very beautiful memory of us, adults sharing their love, being free. What a pity that this feeling has broken now.”
The singer argued that the origin of the conflict was a proposal that Playà made him last May to invest in family businesses. After reviewing her with her team, Sanz decided not to participate, which, according to him, could have motivated the accusations.
“I feel that your reaction is this, but I want you to know that I have never been a participant in those practices, and I will follow my whole life,” he concluded.

After the controversy, Playà thanked Instagram for the support received and said he will keep the messages of encouragement they sent him.
