For Saturday, June 21, the official authorization of the section that includes from 12 “A” avenue in zone 2 to 16 avenue in Zone 6, as part of the works carried out by the Municipality of Guatemala on Martí Street, is planned.
According to the information provided by the capital commune, this first section has been completed, which goes from The 12 avenue “A” until 16 avenue, in the immediate vicinity of the Santa Cruz del Milagro parish, zone 6.
This first phase includes 560 meters of roads, distributed in two lanes. Two layers of asphalt were applied: a base of 14 cm conventional asphalt mixture and a 7 cm of modified asphalt mixture, on a stabilized base of 30 cm.
In the next stage it will continue towards the blade in zone 6. This section is approximately 920 meters long, in three lanes and subsequently, it will continue towards the Belize bridge. Then, it will be the turn of the entrance lane to the city according to the projections of the commune.
The municipality includes the placement of 34 thousand square meters again asphalt throughout the road, which will represent a substantial improvement in the entire route where more than 150 thousand vehicles are estimated daily.

Project phases
The information provided by The capital commune indicates that the work is carried out in several phasesranging from the 12 avenue “A” in zone 2 to the beginning of the Belize bridge that connects with the route to the Atlantic:
- First phase: 485 linear meters will be intervened, from the 12th “A” avenue, zone 2, to 15 avenue, zone 6
- Second phase: It includes 920 meters, from 14 avenue to 21 avenue, zone 6
- Third phase: It covers the section from 21 avenue to the beginning of the Belize bridge
It is expected that the works can be completed before the end of this year, according to estimates of the capital commune.
