This June 19 on Attorney General of Florida, James Uthmeieroffered a controversial proposal to build a “new Temporary detention center for migrants “in Everglades.
Through a video posted on his social network X, Uthmeier said the detention center, which baptized as “Aligator Alcatraz”it would be done in An airport infrastructure of 39 miles found in the middle of Everglades.
Uthmeier said that the construction of this center “It presents an efficient and economical opportunity to build a temporary detention center“
He also said that the governor of Florida, Ron Desantis, asked different state leaders to search for areas where migrants can be stopped.

He added that the construction of the center could take approximately 30 to 60 days and that could have a capacity of approximately one thousand undocumented.
