Billionaire Elon Musk, former close ally of US President Donald Trump, whose government recently abandoned, announced on Saturday, July 5, the creation of his own political movement, the “America party.”
“Today, the America party” is created, in reference to the United States, “to return” to the country “La Libertad”, wrote the executive director of Tesla and Spacex in his social network X.
The decision was taken after a survey in its social network X (formerly Twitter), in which more than 65% of their followers supported the formation of a new political force. Musk criticized the current bipartisan system and the recent fiscal bill approved by the Republican Government, which he described as “abomination.”
Musk confirmed the creation of the America Party, a political proposal that is born in open confrontation with the Republican Party and its leader, Donald Trump.
The announcement was made in its social network X, where it also assured that the movement will seek to represent a “silent” majority that is not identified with the Democrats or with the Republicans.
The break between Musk and Trump intensified after the approval of the fiscal package “One Big Beautiful Bill”, which increases public spending. Musk described that law as an act of “institutionalized corruption” and resigned in May in his position in the Government Efficiency Department (Doge).
The businessman indicated that the America party will initially focus on a small number of key seats in Congress to “restore individual freedoms and reduce government waste.”
