One of the most anticipated moments of the June Festival ended abruptly this Saturday, August 30, when a member of the National Ballet of Guatemala suffered a fall during the last presentation of El Lake Swan Lake, at the National Theater.

The incident occurred in the third act, when Norman Barrios, who plays Prince Sigfrido – the main person of the work – fell while executing one of the central scenes.

Immediately, a partner ran to his aid and the curtain closed, interrupting the function suddenly to allow the change of scenery.

The municipal firefighters went to the place and provided medical attention to the dancer, whose condition has not been officially confirmed.

The absence of Barrios was evident in the last act and in the final presentation of the cast, when the artists were cheered by the public.

The Swan Lake was part of the official program of the June Festival, which is held every year with dance, music and theater shows in the capital.
