Xelajú MC stayed with the western superclassic by defeating Marquense 3-1 in an intense match, played at the Mario Camposeco stadium, and that had emotions until the last minutes. With this victory, the goats reach 11 points in the table, while the lions stayed with 8.

The scoreboard opened in the first half thanks to the forcefulness of Pedro Báez, who took advantage of a corner shot executed by Jesús Antonio López. The Paraguayan striker connected a solid header that left goalkeeper Manuel Sosa without options and put the local fans to celebrate.

The meeting was raised from the beginning, with a first half marked by the intensity in the midfield and the constant faults, which made it difficult for both teams to show greater clarity in their offensive game. Despite this, Xelajú went to rest with the minimum advantage of 1-0.

In the second part, Marquense reacted and found the tie thanks to a penalty. Oscar Linton took responsibility from eleven steps and defined safely to overcome Dario Silva, establishing the 1-1 that gave hope to visitors.

The duel seemed to go to a draw, but in the final stretch the entrance of Elmer William Cardoza made a difference. Just minutes after entering the field, he received a pass from Jesús López and defined with power to return the advantage to Xelajú in the 2-1.

Already in time of replacement, the premises liquidated the party with an individual action of Harim Quezada. The attacker showed his instinct scorer and sentenced with the final 3-1, closing the party in Quetzaltenango.

With this triumph, the goats are still firm in the upper part of the table with 11 units and confirm their domain at home. Marquense, on the other hand, stayed with 8 points and suffered a hard blow in the regional classic.
