Two alleged gang members were captured this Friday, October 10, in zone 3 of the capital, after trying to escape through the roofs of several homes when they noticed the presence of agents of the National Civil Police (PNC), during a raid coordinated with the Public Ministry (MP).
The detainees were identified as Jonathan “N”, 27 years old, and Carlos “L”, 20. According to the police report, both tried to flee when they realized the operation, but were neutralized by the agents, who had already cordoned off the area.
A backpack with several bags of marijuana was seized. The home had video surveillance cameras.
These captures are part of a national operation developed by the Specialized Criminal Investigation Division (DEIC) and specialized units of the PNC, with the support of prosecutors from the Public Ministry. As of 11:30 a.m., authorities reported 19 people captured and one minor transferred, as well as the seizure of weapons, drugs and other evidence relevant to the investigations.
More arrests for serious crimes
In San Pedro Ayampuc, Marco “N”, 52 years old, was arrested in the La Leyenda neighborhood, accused of continuous use of falsified documents. In the same town, in the San Luis neighborhood, José “N”, 19 years old, alias “Farruko”, an alleged member of Barrio 18, was captured, accused of illicit association, extortionate obstruction of traffic, murder and attempted murder.
In the La Parroquia market, zone 6 of the capital, agents captured Joshua “N”, 18, alias “Gordo”, and Juan “N”, 20, alias “Pama”, for the crimes of illicit association, conspiracy to commit murder and extortionate obstruction of traffic.
Operations in the interior of the country
In Livingston, Izabal, Lázaro “N”, 50, was captured, allegedly responsible for a homicide with a knife that occurred in 2019. The suspect tried to flee through the bushes, but was caught by the agents.
In Jutiapa, in the village of El Porvenir, Delia “N”, 51 years old; his sons Jeyder “N,” 26, and Brian “N,” 23; as well as the American Suzic “N”, 45. A 16-year-old teenager was also referred. In the house, one kilo of possible cocaine, three pounds of marijuana, 170 bags of that drug, 20 “fangs” with cocaine, Q3,000 in cash, more than 300 ammunition, firearms without documentation and 32 marijuana plants in pots were found.
In another raid in zone 3 of Jutiapa, Selvin “N”, 39, was captured for being accused of kidnapping or kidnapping. Additionally, in the San Simón neighborhood, SGAIA agents reported the capture of Marlon “N”, 21 years old; Francisco “N”, 20; and Rosmary “N”, 24, with 85 bags of marijuana in her possession.
In San Francisco, Petén, Israel “N”, 50 years old, was captured, accused of homicide that occurred on August 29.
In San Pablo La Laguna, Sololá, the PNC served two arrest warrants against Lucas “N”, 29, for aggravated robbery. According to the investigation, he was dedicated to assaulting people who were traveling between San Pablo and San Juan La Laguna.
Finally, in Guazacapán, Santa Rosa, a Taurus brand pistol, 9 mm caliber, with a magazine and 18 ammunition was located.
