In a marathon game full of drama, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Toronto Blue Jays in the third game of the World Series, in a duel that lasted more than six hours and 18 innings, in the Dodger Stadium. The final score was 6-5, and left the series 2-1 in favor of the Angelenos.
The game began with local dominance: in the second and third innings, Teoscar Hernández and Shohei Ohtani hit home runs that put the Dodgers ahead on the scoreboard. However, the Blue Jays reacted strongly in the fourth inning thanks to a home run by Mexican Alejandro Kirk, which drove in three runs and turned the game around.
The tension continued to grow. In the fifth inning, a double by Ohtani and a single by Freddie Freeman gave the Dodgers the lead back, but Toronto responded in the seventh to take the lead again. When everything seemed to get complicated, the Japanese phenomenon appeared again: Ohtani hit the ball out of the park, tied the game 5-5 and forced extra innings.
From there, it was a battle of the bullpens. Both teams exhausted virtually all of their relievers in search of victory. Even Shinobino Yamamoto, who had shone in the second game, began to warm up for a possible historic relief.
But there was no need: in the bottom of the 18th inning, Freddie Freeman dressed as a hero by hitting a home run that unleashed madness at Dodger Stadium.
