The Guatemalan Army, in coordination with civil security forces, carried out a search at the Women’s Orientation Center (COF), in Fraijanes, Guatemala, this Sunday, April 12, 2025.
Preliminarily, they reported that five cell phones, boxes of cigarettes, electronic equipment and Q1 coins were seized, which will be made available to the competent authorities.
According to the Army, the operation aimed to strengthen the internal control of the penitentiary center, as well as prevent illicit activities and improve security protocols.
The confiscated items include televisions and speakers that were removed by elements of the military forces, the National Civil Police and the Penitentiary System.
In turn, those deprived of liberty were searched for illicit objects.

According to the PNC, the COF houses 1,185 women.
