Between students, teachers and dance professionals, Some 600 dancers performed a show in the port of the Mediterranean city of Malaga, Spain, on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the initiative of the Spanish actor and producer Antonio Banderas.

Under the direction of the dancer Lucía Lacarra, the dance group, coming from the entire region of Andalusia—particularly from the province of Málaga—, was presented at an event that is part of the First International Tip Toe Dance Festival, which will be held from April 11 to 19, 2026promoted by Banderas in his hometown.

According to the Spanish artist, The objective of putting on a show of that magnitude is to “bring out the performing arts to the streets, take them off the stage and put them at the service of the citizens.

Banderas highlighted that, from the beginning of the Soho Theater, which he owned, he wanted to include dance as one of the performing arts that should be part of its presentations.

The show was presented at Pier One, in front of the Center Pompidou museum, where it received applause from the public.

There are not many dance festivals at the moment because there are few people at an institutional level who want to make the effort, and someone like Antonio Banderas, with that passion for the performing arts, is needed to accept the great challenge.“Lacarra highlighted.

The dancer and director highlighted Banderas’ collaboration, which she described as “an unexpected gift of life.”

The Soho Theater, for its part, reported that The dance group showed one of the fundamental exercises of the ballet, which requires discipline, work and dedicationand provides beauty and elegance.

The venue was inaugurated in 2019 as a project by Antonio Banderas, who aspired to have a theater since he was a child.

The theater has been and is my best stage. The purest, closest and most exciting interpretation is always experienced on stage. My happiest professional time has been linked to the theater, and I have dreamed of having one since the 70s”, he points out on the Soho Theater page.

According to the schedule, the Soho Theater presents works, music, dancedocumentaries, conferences, circus and magic shows.
