Colombian and Guatemalan are captured for crime linked to “drop by drop” loans

The Colombian Jefferson “N”, 37 years old, and the Guatemalan Verónica “N”, 25, were captured in the La Granja neighborhood, Santa Elena, Flores, Petén, the National Civil Police (PNC) reported this Tuesday, April 14.

He added that they were arrested after being denounced by a person who accused them of being allegedly responsible for the death of another person, in an armed incident recorded on April 13 in the El Porvenir neighborhood, San Benito, allegedly due to a “drop by drop” loan conflict, an issue that is being investigated.

In the PNC database, Verónica “N”, 25 years old, has a history of having been captured in San Francisco, in that department, on March 4, 2020, for illegal charges.

After the armed incident, the alleged perpetrators fled the scene; However, the quick reaction and coordination of the agents allowed them to be located and captured hours later.

The PNC added that it continues with the search for the firearm used and other evidence to continue the investigation.

Authorities are also investigating in Immigration whether the Colombian is legally in Guatemala.
