Sources from the Public Ministry (MP) reported this Thursday, April 23, about the capture of Amílcard “D”, alleged coordinator of the account in Arbencista Movementaccused of issuing threats against several people, including Claudia Paredes, president of the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ).
The arrest was made in San Marcos, as a result of three raids in Malacatán, coordinated by the Special Prosecutor’s Office against Impunity (FECI). According to the authorities, the detainee is being investigated for the crime of terrorism.
According to official information, the proceedings were carried out under the direction of the Public Ministry, in coordination with the FECI, as part of an investigation related to publications on social networks in which threats were issued.
The case is under reservation in the Second Pluripersonal First Instance Criminal Court of Guatemala, so the authorities have not released photographs or provided additional statements about the procedure or the progress of the investigations.
Due to this legal condition, no further details have been released about the events investigated or possible additional victims.
