This Friday, April 24, at 10 a.m., the Nomination Commission for the election of Attorney General and Head of the Public Ministry (MP9) is called to session.
The session takes place after the ruling by the Constitutional Court (CC) on the review of qualifications of candidates who had experience as a judge.
On Thursday, April 23, the CC annulled the list of candidates for attorney general by granting provisional protection, which forces the process to go back to the evaluation phase.
In its resolution, the CC considered that it is a well-known fact that in the sessions of the Nomination Commission the verification of the requirements demanded by constitutional article 251 was not met, specifically, because the time served as a judge could not be computed within the exercise of the legal profession.
Following the resolution, the General Secretariat of the Presidency returned to the Nomination Commission the list of six candidates for attorney general.
