According to the National Civil Police, after a chase in Escuintla they captured two alleged hitmen, identified as Elmer Morales, alias “Mayimbú”, 35 years old, and Óscar de la Cruz, 25, who were escaping in a vehicle after an armed attack that left two men wounded by gunshots at the entrance to the Royal Hill neighborhood, zone 3 of that municipal seat.
According to preliminary information, two men were on a motorcycle when Morales and de la Cruz intercepted them and shot them.
During the operation, the National Civil Police seized a 9 millimeter caliber pistol with the registration number frosted.
The injured were taken to a health center, while the detainees were left at the disposal of the competent authorities, the PNC reported.
According to preliminary investigations, both the injured and the captured would be linked to the illegal collection of loans known as gota a gota and drug dealing in the municipality of Escuintla.
