Judge Maximino Morales postponed the intermediate hearing of journalist Jose Rubén Zamora due to a pending challenge that must be resolved by the Third Court of Appeals. The new hearing was scheduled for May 28, judicial sources reported this Wednesday, April 29.
The suspension is due to the fact that a challenge raised by Raúl Falla, of the Foundation against Terrorism, against Judge Érick García, Judge Mario Hichos and the staff of the Second Court is pending resolution.
The resolution must be issued by the Third Chamber of the Court of Appeals, chaired by Judge Alejandro Prado.
Judge Maximino Morales pointed out that, if the investigation becomes known, it could be without effect, depending on what the Chamber resolves.
“On the one hand I feel frustrated, even though the judge who is hearing my case has been very serious (…) this case was fabricated in such a ridiculous way that as soon as you read the presentation it will surely fall apart and I will only have the one that is a trial, because in this one I only had a first hearing and three years ago I should have had what is now due at the end of the month and I think that the judge is very serious and we are going to have it this month,” said Zamora.
In addition, Zamora spoke out regarding the arrest of the indigenous leaders Luis Pacheco and Héctor Chaclán and the former anti-corruption prosecutor Stuardo Campo, who, he said, “are kidnapped by the Court.”
