A United States prosecutor’s office reported this April 29 that Cole Allen, the man accused of trying to assassinate Donald Trump during the Correspondents’ dinner at the White House, took a selfie in his hotel room before of committing the attempted attack.
According to court documents from the prosecutor’s office, Allen used his cell phone to take a photo in main mirror of your hotel room.
The authorities detailed that Allen took the photograph at 8:03 p.m. (00:03 GMT), about 30 minutes before the assassination attempt against Trump.
In the photograph you can see Cole Allen dressed in a black shirt and pants, a red tie and a small bag, which authorities theorize contained ammunition.
It is also seen in the photo that Allen was wearing a shoulder holster, a sheathed knife, pliers and wire cutters.
The court documents also detail the type of weapons that Allen would have used for the attempted attack, which were a Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun, a .38-caliber Rock Island Armory pistol, ammunition, two knives and four daggers.
Allen’s photograph, as well as the alleged weapons he used, were presented by the prosecution before the Federal Court of the District of Columbia to convince the judge to keep the accused in preventive detention without bail.
Currently, Allen faces a charge of attempted assassination of the president and can be sentenced to life imprisonment, in addition of two other charges for use of weapons.
