The Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing (CIV) reported this Wednesday, April 29, that it began internal investigations for the alleged misuse of an official vehicle to transport materials outside the institution.
The ministry explained, in a statement, that the proceedings seek to clarify the facts and determine possible administrative responsibilities, in accordance with the provisions of the law.
According to the CIV, the use of institutional assets, resources and vehicles must respond exclusively to public purposes, as established in article 154 of the Political Constitution of the Republic of Guatemala.
The institution added that, based on the results of the investigation, the necessary corrective measures will be adopted to prevent similar situations from being repeated.
The CIV reiterated its commitment to guarantee the appropriate use of public resources and to act with transparency in the exercise of its functions.
