Gunmen killed this Wednesday, April 29, in zone 2 of Quetzaltenango, a man who, according to records of the National Civil Police (PNC), had several records of fraud. In the event, a soft drink deliveryman was injured.
The fatal victim was identified as Selvin Reyes Florián, 42 years old, who was attacked by gunfire on 6th street in zone 2 of Quetzaltenango, according to the report from the Volunteer Firefighters.
In 2022, Selvin Geovanni was captured in zone 2 of Quetzaltenango, accused of a special case of fraud, according to an order issued by a court in San Pedro Carchá, Alta Verapaz, on June 20 of that year. By then, Reyes had two priors for the same crime.
During the armed attack this Wednesday, Antony Matul, 32, who was taking an order for soft drinks in a nearby store, was also injured, for which he was transferred to the Quetzaltenango Social Security, reported Adoni Cifuentes, of the Volunteer Firefighters.
It was confirmed that the deceased is the brother of evangelical pastor Wesler Reyes Florián, sentenced on January 18, 2024 by the Quetzaltenango Femicide Court to 33 years of incommutable prison for the crime of sexual assault with an aggravated sentence.
On November 5, 2021, The PNC reported that Welser Gilmar was captured in zone 2 of Quetzaltenango, accused of the crime of sexual assault with aggravated punishment against a minor.
