Aeronautics investigates possible non-compliance with safety regulations in a small plane accident in Huehuetenango

The General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC) expanded details of the plane accident that occurred on Sunday, May 3 in the Amerco village, La Dicha sector, Santa Cruz Barillas, Huehuetenango.

He added that the aircraft with registration TG-JEB, brand Cessna 182H, type Skylane, was involved in the accident.

He affirmed that he will initiate the pertinent actions ex officio to establish under what circumstances the mishap occurred.

He warned that, in the event that non-compliance with the operational safety standard is establishedwill apply the sanctions established in article 119 of the Civil Aviation Law.

“The DGAC emphatically establishes that all air operations must be carried out with the corresponding authorizations and strict compliance with current operational and airport safety regulations, with pilots and operators being responsible for refraining from executing flights that do not comply with said requirements,” the institution stated.

He indicated that he will report on the progress in the investigation, as well as the actions taken as a result of the incident to guarantee operational safety.

Injured and deceased

According to information from the relief corps, two injured people were transferred to the Santa Cruz Barillas District Hospital; one of them died upon admission.

Two people died at the scene of the accident, according to preliminary information.
