The premiere of Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew (Narnia: The Wizard’s Nephew) has a new date. The new adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia will hit theaters on February 12, 2027 now the Netflix platform on April 2 of the same year.
Directed by Greta Gerwigthe story is an adaptation of the novel The magician’s nephew, by CS Lewis, first published in 1955.
“Two friends, victims of the power of magic rings, are thrown into another world where an evil sorceress tries to turn them into her slaves. But Then Aslan appears and creates Narnia, a world populated by mythological beings, talking animals and evil witches.“says the book’s synopsis.
The new production focuses on the origin of Narnia and follows Diggory and Polly, two children who discover a magical world thanks to the rings that take them to the Forest between the worlds. Aslan, the lion who gives life to the universe, and Jadis, the White Witch, who emerges as the great antagonist also appear in this story.
“Working with Netflix to bring this film to life has been extraordinary“said the director, who also said that this is a story that she has connected with since she was a child.
This project becomes the prequel to the universe created by CS Lewis, as part of the Netflix plan to develop new films and series based on the seven Narnia books, the rights to which it acquired in 2018.
Although initially the premiere of Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew It was scheduled for the end of 2026the new date for 2027 was announced. In theaters it will be available from February 12, 2027 and on the Netflix platform from April 2 of the same year.
